Ghana's varieties

Day 1: Arrival in Accra
Your guide will await you at the airport, take you to your hotel and go through your itinerary. Overnight in Accra.

Day 2: To the Volta Region
Transfer to the Volta Region , on the way stopover in Krobo Odumase where you can watch the local bead factory. Overnight in Biakpa.

Day 3: Mount Gemi
You can hike around in the woods of the Gemi Mountain and swim under the Biakfa Falls. Overnight in Biakpa.

Day 4: Eco-tourism as it was meant to be
In the morning hours you move on to Amedzofe, another mountain village. For the sportsmen, it is an option to do this by mountain bike, but it will involve some climbing. After lunch you continue for Wli. Overnight in Wli.

Day 5: See the Wli Falls
You hike through the forest to the Wli Falls where there is ample opportunity to swim. In the afternoon transfer to Lake Volta. Overnight in Akosombo.

Day 6: Lake Volta
You spend the day on or around Lake Volta. If you can catch a boat, this is the moment for a pleasure trip, otherwise you go along the coast to see some of this gigantic man-made lake and the just as gigantic Akosombo Dam.  Overnight in Akosombo.

Day 7: To the Ashanti

Transfer to Kumasi. This city is really the cultural capital of Ghana. In the afternoon you visit the Kejetia Market. Overnight in Kumasi.

Day 8: Around Kumasi
You visit some some of the handicraft villages around Kumasi, like Bonwire with its Kente weaving and Ntonsu, renowned for its Adinkra cloth. Finish the day off with a drive to the volcanic Lake Bosumtwi. Overnight in Kumasi.

Day 9: To the Central Region
Today you travel to Elmina in the Central Region. You visit Elmina Castle, one of the largest slave-trading castles, now being preserved as a monument. Take some time to explore the amazing village of Elmina itself with its fishing harbor and many remnants of an earlier colonial age. Overnight in Anomabu.

Day 10: The Canopy Walkway
Today you go out to see Kakum National Park with its famous Canopy Walkway. Walking over the suspension bridges you get an unique view of the tropical forest. In the afternoon it is time for your transfer back to Accra. Overnight in Accra.

Day 11: Explore Accra
Today you take a city trip in Accra to see the places of most interest, like Independence Square, Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, National Museum, National Theatre, Makola Market and National Cultural Centre. Opportunity for some last-minute shopping. At the end of the day transfer to Kotoka Airport to check in for your flight back home.
